After a visit to the Whistle Stop, I scoped out this nearby bakery. I was intrigued by the size of their Almond Croissant. It probably weighed nearly 3 lbs. I sampled the 2 tips and the filling is delicious. I enjoyed the rest, at the end of the day. Unfortunately I don't find my way up here too often, but if I do, I'll explore more of their treats. Everyone was nice and helpful and loved the feel of the decor.
We love Village bakery! It's a family favorite! We get it every single weekend that we are in Fox Lake. The kiddos love the donuts, the parents love the danishes, and all the sweet treats in between are always enjoyable. The staff is always so kind and super efficient with service. Sometimes there's a line because their sweets are a hot commodity! Highly recommend.

Amazing food for amazing prices!! The fam was headed to the theater and we stopped by this gem. Cinnamon rolls, baked for less than 2 dollars!! Cookies were delicious too!! Do yourself a favor and stop by when you're in the area
The BEST danishes hands down. They also have almond croissants that are to die for. The pecan roll is also amazing!!! This is my favorite bakery in the area.
A few friends and I stayed by lake over the weekend and we decided to pick up some donuts from here! You have to get here early to get some of the good stuff! If you make it though, every single one of their donuts are delicious! These are traditional donuts, except, made to perfection! I really encourage everyone to at least try one of their donuts! I promise you end up getting at least half a dozen!
Great little European bakery with old style donuts coffee cakes and strudels. If you go in the morning everything will still be warm..
I contacted the Village Bakery from out of state to put together an assortment of items for a large family gathering in Fox Lake. Phillip was incredibly helpful and thoughtful in helping to put this together. He called me back as promised, twice, to keep me updated on their product availability and timeline. Each time he was delightful and provided wonderful customer service! Those who enjoyed the cookies and coffee cakes were impressed with the quality and deliciousness. I couldn't be more pleased with the products and the service we received. Highly recommend!!
